Nihongo no Densetsu

The speaker who came to speak with our Japanese Class on Thursday said many insightful things. Some of the things that struck me as especially insightful were:

1: Its impossible to learn everything at once, so just focus mainly on one aspect of the language and go from there
2: That there are two main parts of the brain used for learning languages, seeing/ understanding, and producing. So during a quiz, you might think you know the material, but you really don't.
3: Theres a difference between native speakers and non-native speakers/ automatic production and non automatic production of the language.

I thought it was really interesting to hear her speak and get her take on learning a language. Thanks for asking us to go to her presentation さとうせんせい。
