I wonder what Japanese music everyone else in the class likes and listens to? One of my favorite Japanese artists is Utada Hikaru. Thats why, when we learned the two verbs うたいます (to sing) and ひきます (to play a stringed instrument or piano) I thought it was funny how close these two words were to Utada-san's name. I wonder if that is her actual name, or if it's a play on words.
Regardless, she is a very talented singer and produces enjoyable music.

I never associated her name with うたいます and ひきます! Her given name is actually 光 in Kanji, and it means "light." すてきななまえですね。
